Scope

Engineering scope for rail structures

The design department turns customer technical documentation into workshop documentation, qualifies the production process, designs auxiliary tools and prepares the process instructions used in manufacturing.

Workshop documentation
Customer technical documentation is developed into the drawings and production information required on the shop floor.
Sheet-metal development
Components are developed into flat patterns for cutting and forming in aluminium and steel.
Process qualification and instructions
The manufacturing route is qualified and translated into process instructions before production begins.
Welding jigs
Jigs position and clamp aluminium and steel components during welding and machining.
Transport and logistics tooling
Frames and supports carry finished components from the production halls to the customer.
Design environment
CATIA, Inventor and AutoCAD, used by 11 CAD/CAM specialists.

Welding jigs

Jigs that hold the structure

A welding jig holds aluminium and steel components in the position the drawing requires while the welds are made, and keeps that position while the assembly is checked and machined.

  • Positioning and clamping

Clamps and stops hold every component so the joint gap stays where the drawing puts it.

  • Welding access

The jig is laid out so each seam can be reached in the welding position it needs.

  • Machining setups

The same fixture principle clamps the assembly for milling and drilling after welding.

Transport tooling

Tooling for handling and transport

Finished structures leave the hall on tooling designed for them, not on general-purpose racks.

  • Transport frames

Frames and supports hold a large welded assembly in shape while it is lifted, loaded and driven to the customer.

  • Internal logistics

Tooling moves components between welding, machining, bonding and the paint shop.
